Dear Coach
Below you will find a few things I would like to share about myself. I like to have fun, but when it comes time to work hard its, game on. I love playing golf and it has been a passion since the day I started.
This past year I was a co-captain on my high school golf team, and made first team all-conference. In addition to my golf skills, I also believe I am able to offer leadership as a player and a teammate. I feel a natural need to lead others, whether it is inspiring players or helping teammates to keep positive energy when things are going bad. Over the past couple two years I feel I have outworked everyone on my high school team, whether I was staying later then everyone else or grinding it out in the rain when no one else was practicing.
I started late to playing golf. During my sophomore year I was shooting on average 95. I was upset because I felt like I could do almost everything the great players were doing, but it was just a matter of knowing how to harness my distance. I began my journey to the top by practicing every day from the start to the end of the day. I came back my junior year firing 76's at tryouts and turning my coach and teammates heads like I knew I could. My scoring average was around 78 my junior year and I finished the year winning the team’s most improved player award. This summer I worked even harder on my skills and I tried to qualify for the Colorado Open. I shot a one over par 73 on a 7,500 yard course and finished 24th out of 82 players attempting to qualify, being the fourth best amateur and beating over 40 professional players. This experience truly made me believe I could play golf at the next level. I just finished the golf season for my senior year. My tournament scoring average was 76, and I helped our team place second in league, second in regionals and second in state. It is my dream to play golf in college.
I would like to teach golf in the future. I have been working part-time the last two years as an instructor teaching Tae Kwon Do. I am working towards my third degree black belt, and I love every minute I spend teaching kids. I believe I have the ability to be a great teacher and leader.
I would love to find a school that has a golf team that I can be a part of. I do not believe I have come close to reaching the full potential of my golf skills and I believe I can be a tremendous asset to any golf program.
I want to thank you for taking time to look at my information.
