Zach Baldwin Bask...Personal Statement
I am a lifelong athlete but have only played golf for 3 and a half years. At 16 years old, my current driving distance exceeds 290 yards, my driver swing speed is >115 mph, and my current handicap is +1.6. Over the last three years, my 9-hole high school scoring average has improved by 18 strokes from my freshman year to my junior year. In fact, I did not qualify for districts my freshman year, but qualified for districts and regionals my sophomore year, and for state my junior and senior year. I look forward to continuing this trend throughout my senior year and collegiate career. I also play varsity basketball which has made me a better all around athlete, contributed to my leg strength, and given me invaluable team experience. I look forward to being part of your collegiate team. I also would like to note that I am taking a gap year and I am looking for a college that I can join for 2022!

- I shot 75-75 for 4th place out of 18. Putter let me down this week. I felt like I hit the ball and just missed too many putts. Not my best, but conditions were very windy.

- I shot 75-75 on that first two days of stroke play on a very tricky course for t-15 out of 78 (field was very strong). Made it on to match play where I lost in the first round where I putted very poorly and lost 3&2.

- I shot 73 and won out of a field of 13. I played pretty well and 73 was respectable considering how windy it was and it felt nice to get a win.
