Jacob Vazquez '24 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coach,

My name is Jacob Vazquez, I am in the graduating class of 2024 at East Lake High School located in Tarpon Springs, Florida. I would love to play collegiate golf at your University. In my research of your amazing university, it is obvious that your program would allow me to compete at a high Division level and receive a great education as well. I want to major in business, and I can tell that your university has a lot of experience in that area. Therefore, I strongly feel that your University can be a great fit for me, academically and athletically. Based on the track I am currently following in my high school curriculum; I am set to graduate with multiple AP credits which should aid me in earning my business degree at your University. 

As one of the leaders on my current high school team I was able to guide our team to the district, regional and state championship and I feel that I could be instrumental in guiding your University to the next level.

During this past summer I qualified for my first AJGA at the Huntsville Junior Open with an even par 72 which provided me with a 4^th place finish overall. I followed this up with another even par 72 and 4^th place finish at the Sugar Mill Open a Florida Junior Tournament (FJT). Due to weather the second round was cancelled. The following week I entered the Nick Faldo Southeast Regional and finished 2nd place overall with a score of 74-75. At the HJGT Orlando Fall Junior Open I finished top 15 with a score of 73 (E) – 74 (+1). During the 3A Boys Golf Florida State Championship I had a score of 74 which finished top 15 overall and lead all scores on my team. This year at the FJT Indian Springs Country Club Open I had a 2nd place finish with a score of 70 (-2) for the first round and due to weather the second round was cancelled. I also finished in 5^th place at the FJT Okeeheelee Open with a score of 73(+1) – 71(-1).

My current cumulative GPA is a 3.54 unweighted and 3.83 weighted.  My courses include a combination of APs and honors.
