The I My name is Whitney Rush (Class of 2021), I am a left-handed 5’8 Combo Guard at EastLake High School. Physical attributes include quick and fast speed, tough defense, strong catching ability, high free throw percentage and ability to drive to basket. Played co-ed flag football for 3 years with a total of 30+ touchdowns and won offensive player of the year.
I have been a starting guard on varsity basketball since my freshman season. My background includes over 8 years in Crossfit where I have won many Championships including Co-ed. I have extensive basketball training with Coach John Biachi and Coach Ron Brown(RIP). They have developed my basketball IQ towards a College mindset, including offensive and defensive strategies and techniques. Ryan Quigley, East Lake High School head coach, focuses our team on a transition offense and lockdown defense. We have won 2 District titles in the last couple years with this strategy.
My academic accomplishments include: National English Honor Society Junior Representative & National Honors Society Junior Representive. I hope to soon become a Senior Representative Officers in both groups. I am also a part of the Engineering program at my school and will be receiving an Engineering Certificate by graduation. I am currently a dual enrollment student at St Pete Community College and plan on graduating with my high school diploma and my Associates of Arts Degree.
Future goals include a career in the FBI and/or other similar fields.
