Hi, I’m Jackson Cross, class of 2020 and a rising senior at Lanier High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Golf has taken me to places that I never thought I’d go and I’m excited to see where it takes me in the future. I really enjoy the team aspect of golf and the fraternity like bond golf teams foster. I want to lead my college team to conference and national championships and graduate on time with a high class rank.
My father introduced me to tournament golf and tackle football at the age of 7. I played both sports every season till 2018. That works out to about 140 golf tournaments and 80 football games.
In Football I played Quarterback from grade school through high school; leading teams on and off the field with a few years where I played both ways as an Outside Linebacker.
In golf, ages 7-12 I spent most summers in Southern California playing in US Kids, SCPGA Jr. and Atlanta Junior Golf events. At age 13 I transitioned to 36-hole tournaments such as Hurricane, SJGT, AJGA and GA PGA.
I have 27 tournament rounds at par or lower 2016-2019. In tournaments played 2014-2019 I’ve placed 1st 6 times, 2nd 13 times, 3rd 6 times, 4th 5 times, 5th 8 times, 6th-10th 14 times. The average field size was 63.6.
Putting is my favorite part of the game. Putts can go in on different lines and speeds. It really allows you to be creative with how you get the ball in the hole.
