August 2017Personal Statement
My name is Evan Sakamoto, and I am a senior at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have been playing golf since I was 7 years old. Out of all the things I've done with golf, the most fun I've had was playing on my high school golf team. We have won the league championship in each the three years I have been on the team. I really enjoy the team aspect of golf where everyone supports each other, even though golf isn't a team sport. I hope to continue being on a team similar to that throughout my college career. I have played golf competitively for 8 years, so I am used to a more serious golfing environment, and I am aware of how hard I have to work to get to the top.
Academically, I have a very good SAT score and my grades have improved significantly since my freshman year. I am always trying my best to improve and become the best student/athlete that I can be.
