I believe I have the ability to play collegiate golf. My father first introduced me to the game of golf during my soccer and baseball years. He believed golf was a sport I could play competitively throughout my entire life. He played collegiate tennis and knows the demands placed on a student-athlete. At the age of 11, I decided to focus solely on the game of golf to compete at the highest level. I have won tournaments at the state level and have competed against top US and international players both in Hawaii and on the mainland.
As a freshman I got accepted into Punahou School on Oahu. I decided to move away from my home and family on Kauai to attend Punahou. Despite the difficulties, I managed to make the Varsity I golf team all three years as well as maintain a 3.6 cumulative GPA. During these years I have learned the importance of responsibility, sacrifice and hard work. I now have the added responsibility of taking care of my younger brother Rilen who began attending Punahou last year.
My strengths include responsibility and independence both academically and athletically. In golf I am proud of my short game and the fact that I am basically self-taught. Besides golf I am an avid surfer and skateboarder. I believe as a golfer and athlete I have the desire and commitment to play collegiate golf.
