I started playing golf at the beginning of high school. I had no prior knowledge on the sport, yet I came from a fairly athletic background playing basketball, water polo, baseball and soccer before golf. I immediately became hooked with the sport. I would hit balls on the range for hours, learning the basics of the swing. Within months of picking up a club I would break 45 on 9 holes. After seeing how much I had quickly become in love with the sport of golf I was fortunate enough for my parents to hire former PGA Tour player Scott Simpson for lessons. Working with Scott Simpson did wonders to my game. With my relentless work ethic and his extensive knowledge on not just the golf swing mechanics but more importantly the mental side to the game, my golf game would exponentially improve. Later that spring I would shoot 80 in just under a year of picking up a club in a competition. Throughout all of high school I have managed to continue improving my golf game consistently shooting in the mid to low 70's while also excelling academically and participating in two other varsity sports (basketball and soccer). I would love to have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level to showcase my hard work and potential!
