2021 Highlights Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Cody Dodson. I am currently a Junior at St. Teresa Catholic High School. Some of the classes I take are AP Calculus AB, Honors Physics, and Honors English 3. With these classes, my current weighted GPA is 4.24. I have only played golf for three years. On the high school team, I have been named the captain all three years. During the summer, I play on a circuit called the Illinois Prep Tour as well at the IJGA, MAJGT, HJGT. In the seven events I played in, I placed 3rd twice and 2nd once. I also placed 2nd in the State Farm Classic. During the high school season this year, I placed 5th place in the 1A State tournament. Even though I had these good finishes, I feel as if I didn’t play up to the standards I put on myself. In my game, my irons are the best part averaging 14/18 greens in regulation this year. My driving game produces an average of 174.8 ball speed and an average carry of 303 yards. I am working very hard this off-season on hitting more fairways and trying to get into the best shape possible and next year. I am also looking to play in more nationally ranked tournaments to gain more experience and knowledge.
