Golf is somewhat knew to me. I have only been golfing for 3 1/2 years. My scores have gotten increasingly better each year to the point where I am now routinely just a few strokes over par. While I have been pleased with my scoring progress, what I really have come to appreciate is just how much golf has taught me over my short golfing career.
Golf is a game like no other. I have always been a good athlete being the starting shortstop on my baseball team and the starting point guard on my basketball team as I was growing up, but until recently I had never experienced anything that tries your emotions as much as this game! My dad has always told me that life is not easy and will knock you down and you have a choice to either stay down or get up and fight. Golf presents that dilemma to you maybe 8 or 10 times per round. I am proud to say that those "dilemmas" have played a large role in building my character and making me the person I am today.
I am a good student who works hard. I am teachable and eager to learn. I am a terrific team player. Golf is a game I love. Golf is a huge part of my life and I am hoping for it to be a huge part of OUR future! I feel like I would be a tremendous asset who would complement a successful collegiate golf team both on and off the course!
