Not many people have anything good to say about the Covid era, but I am one of the exceptions. Covid changed the way our school operated. Because of that, I discovered one of my true passions and that is golf. Freshman year was the first time I picked up a golf club. Since my first season I have been wanting to play golf as much as I can. I joined the Shewami golf club along with several of my friends. We go out there 4 to 6 times a week. I hope to continue this at the next level, college.
Since childhood, I have participated in many sports such as baseball, basketball, and football which has helped me to develop many skills. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while supporting my teammates. I have learned to set personal goals for myself to continue to improve myself and improve my skills. What has helped me become the player I am today is being coachable. I take anything and everything the coaches teach me to help improve my game. Therefore, I take what the coaches have taught me and I share that knowledge with my teammates.
While sporting events have been the main event of my life, church is another area where I succeed. Each week I help with the little kids at our church kids ministries. We call these kids ministries JAM which stands for Jesus and Me. The children who go to this are in grades 1st through 5th grade. I help do games, skits, reading the bible, audio/ visual, singing and dancing. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping little kids grow in their faith with Jesus.
