Hello! My name is Neil Zhu. I’m a rising senior at Detroit Catholic Central (DCC) High School in Novi, Michigan. As a student, I place great emphasis on challenging myself and performing well in rigorous classes by maintaining a perfect GPA 4.0.
I have enjoyed playing competitive golf tournaments for the last 10 years, and I am working hard every day to excel on the course and in the classroom. For the 2021 season so far, I played in 30 rounds averaging 74.1, helped DCC to finish 2nd in the MHSAA Division 1 State Finals and made the 2021 D1 First Team All-State and Oakland CTY Dream Team. I recently received the 2021 Detroit High School Sports Award from the Detroit Free Press and was recognized as one of the 6 best high school student-athletes for boy’s golf in all divisions. My goal is to continue my golf journey in college while attending a strong academic program.
Additionally, I’m committed to volunteer service such as helping my local food bank with packaging food or tutoring students who need homework help after school. In my spare time, I also enjoy looking and learning about the stock market and reading about current events and issues in technology.
