Currently, I am attending Meridian Community College in Meridian, MS on a golf scholarship.
I finished the first semester with a 3.8 GPA and overall 3.75 and made Dean's List.
In the MACJC golf events, our team finished the season with 3 first place wins and 1 second place. I finished the 2015 fall season with 2 first place medalist honors, 1 first place tie and 1 second place finish. With these finishes, it ranks me #1 in the nation for D2 Jr. Colleges and #14 in the nation for all division colleges and also listed as #2 on the top 100 Golfstat Watch List. I would love the opportunity to continue my college golf at the next level. I have enjoyed being a part of a college team and working together to win tournaments. My desire to better my game and contribute to my team's success is something that I would like to add to another program, as well.
I would appreciate coaches reviewing my accomplishments and consider adding me to your program. Thank you.

2014 Personal Statement:
I have a passion for sports. Having the privilege to play golf, baseball or basketball on a college level would be a dream come true.
My parents put a golf club in my hand at the age of 1. I have played baseball and basketball for my school since seventh grade and have been unable to play in the regular season golf tournaments. I have continued to play golf outside of school and have been hopeful to work it out to do both golf and baseball this upcoming season, 2014/2015. The last two years, after the baseball season was completed, I was able to help the team by playing in the South State and State golf tournaments, which we won in 2013. I was able to shoot the low round (70) for my team to help us win State in 2013. That was very exciting and I hope we can continue the tradition, as this was the 22nd State win for my school.
I started playing baseball at the age of four. I have played on a travel baseball team since I was nine. I played Varsity my ninth grade year as starting shortstop and have played it since. I can also play outfield and pitch. My goal was to improve my batting average to close to the 400 range and help lead our team to playoffs. While we only made to the first round of playoffs, I did reach the .400 goal and was voted to All District First team.
I started playing basketball in the seventh grade for my school. In ninth grade, my team won the District Championship and I averaged 18.6 points per game with a game high of 31 points. My sophomore and junior year, I was able to make over 120 three point shots and gained the Best Offensive Player award, First Team All Division honor, and a member of the "War on the Floor" All Tournament team. This year I am striving to be a member of the Dandy Dozen team and the MAIS All-Star team.
Playing multiple sports has made me a better golfer. Getting through frustrating basketball and baseball seasons has bettered my ability to stay focused on the course and I am able to forget the bad shots and move on to the next shot. Playing these other sports hasn't changed my dream of playing golf at the next level. I am willing to work to get better, as I enjoy practicing all aspects of the game. I am never satisfied with my game and always want to make every swing better than the last.
I enjoy competing against my fellow golfers, while also offering encouragement to them and showing them respect.
Thank you for looking at my profile, as you help me strive for the next level,
Lance Strickland
