Drew Barclay 2020Personal Statement
The game of golf was introduced to me at a young age, and I was swinging a club from the time I could walk. Receiving my first set of real golf clubs when I was three, started me on a path to loving the game. I am active in my school, including cross country, chess club, being an ambassador for the school, leadership classes, and the Varsity golf team. Volunteer and service work in the community is also important to me. A characteristic of mine that I feel makes me stand out is my calm demeanor and ability to stay composed under high stress situations or after hitting a bad shot.
Additionally, I caddie at Boone Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Missouri, which has helped me look at the game from another perspective and gives me a deeper appreciation of the game. It has been a dream of mine to play golf in college and have a career which involves golf.
