I believe that I am well prepared for the collegiate level because of my ability to maintain mental focus and toughness throughout the entirety of a golf round. When I was a freshman there was a senior who taught me the value of keeping your composure and I now pride myself on my ability to persevere and post a good score even when my game isn’t working for me. I also believe that being a basketball player has helped me learn to balance my emotions and stay under control in the most intense situations.
Golf, however, isn’t the only importance in my life. I take great pride in academics and continue to strive for perfection in the classroom. I am a member of NHS which is a society of students that are of the most prestige academically. I also received the Ella Jean Neier scholarship by writing an essay about how I juggle sports and school and continue to succeed in both areas. In conclusion, with the combination of my consistent golf game, mental capability, and academic excellence I believe I would be a strong asset for a competive collegiate golf team.
