At 4 years old my parents bought me a 3 club junior golf set. A few years later I took group golf lessons with my siblings and a few neighbors at a local public course with the 16 year old son of the owner. After lessons we piled on the golf cart and went for a wild ride that ended at the clubhouse for hot dogs and snacks. I enjoyed golf a lot, but at that time I thought I was going to be an Olympic Gymnast. I spent almost 10 years of my life, from ages 4 to 13 1/2, at the gym run by a strict Ukrainian coach for nightly 4 hour practices. I loved to compete. I am not afraid of pressure or the spotlight! After a few minor injuries, I retired from gymnastics to focus on my first love, golf.
Golf in NJ is challenging because of the weather. Sometimes it is perfect, but in the Spring/Summer of 2019 it really rained for all of my tournaments, except for the one with the excessive heat advisory. I still love being outside; I am an avid fisherman and I love to play street basketball most days. Being a homeschooled kid who takes most of his classes at community college, I have a good schedule, and I have turned my focus completely to golf. I was the number 2 player on the high school (Rancocas Valley Regional High School-Go Red Devils!!) varsity team my freshman year, and we had an almost perfect season. This year (2020) has been scrapped from the coronavirus, but I am strength training at home, swinging the club in my backyard daily, studying swings on YouTube, and I will be the first one out when the course opens again! Update 6/2020, The courses have reopened!
