Winner of 4 out of the last six golf tournaments
During my earlier sports years, I was involved in travel baseball, basketball and football. Also, I was introduced to golf by my father at age 9. While I enjoyed the other sports, I almost immediately fell in love with the game of golf. Not only for the enjoyment of a life-long sport, but also I realized that I could excel at golf at a higher level the the other sports.
As a result, I focused all my attention to golf at the age of 11. I was fortunate enough to grow up in Crystal Springs golf resort, one of the finest golf resorts in NJ with 6 champion courses and, as a result, was able to become a junior member at at 11 and play golf almost every single day. As every year passed I became more passionate for golf, and also more competitive. By age 14, I began to enter tournaments and by age 15 began winning some of these tournaments. In fact, I have won 4 out of the last six I have played in at the junior (under 15) and senior (16-18) levels. The last I played, I beat the field of 60 by 4 strokes and posted under par. In addition, my golf membership has allowed me to play competitively 2-3 times per week with the other members. I was recognized at age 16 in the newspaper for being the youngest member to ever win the member only tournament.
I am currently looking to continue competitive golf by being accepted into a college level program. In addition, I plan to apply and attend, if accepted into the Tom Burnett Junior Golf Academy in Jacksonville, FL for my senior year. I feel this will give me access to some of the finest coaches in the county, allow me to solely focus on fine tuning my golf game and give me a head start on my college golf career. I am a firm believer that premier and constant coaching is an integral part of player's golf game development.
I make a good candidate because I give 100 percent, keep focused and remain open to critiques of my game. What has been communicated to me from my current high school coach is, and what sets sets me apart from other athletes is my ability to stay mentally focused in the game and not be distracted by a bad shot or poor round. My personality is somewhat even keeled and I am often told other people I have played rounds with that they enjoy my golf educate and light mood while playing.
Sincerely,
Daniel Dessart
