Athletics have been a huge part of my life since I was three years old. From the age of three until my 8th grade year I was involved in martial arts. Starting in 7th grade, I started my soccer career and have continued that career to this day. My freshman year is when I started my track and field career. I joined my high schools track and field team with the intentions of staying in shape for my upcoming soccer season. But, within my first two weeks of being on the team, I discovered my love and talent for shotput and discus. From that point on I became dedicated to the sport and trained to be the best athlete I could be, and quickly became the top thrower on my team for both events.
I want to continue my track and field career into college, and continue to better myself as an athlete. I am a hard working, dedicated athlete, and strive to better myself everyday. Even though track and field is considered an individuals sport, I am a great team player and leader. I consider myself a good candidate for a team because of these character traits I posse not only on the field, but also in everyday life.
Not only have I been a varsity athlete since my freshman year, I also am a honors student. No matter what sport I am playing, I always make sure to put my academics first. I hold myself to high standards on the field and in the classroom, and always make sure to manage my time very well to keep my status of a varsity athlete and honors student.
My goal is to continue my track and field career into college. I want to continue to better myself in shotput and discus and an athlete. I want to not only further my education in college but further my athletic career. My abilities as an athlete and as a student make me a good candidate for a college team.
