Hunter Prescott '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, my name is Hunter Prescott, I am a rising Senior at Longwood High School on Long Island.  I spent most of my childhood playing soccer, and only playing golf recreationally with my Grandfather.  In the summer between freshman and sophomore year, I met a local college Golf Coach at my local driving range who advised me to leave soccer and focus solely on Golf.  I joined the Varsity Golf Team in my Sophomore year, have been Number 1 and Captain for the team since then.  I was proud to make Counties my first year, and made the cut.  My love for golf has grown exponentially, and during the quarantine I built a driving range in my backyard, chipping over my pool.  I was fortunate enough that my coach, Rich Jones, saw me one day in the simulator and saw potential in me.   For the past two summers I have volunteered for his summer program, coaching elementary school to senior citizens, and have truly enjoyed that experience.  

I am hoping to go to college in the South, both East or West.  I am looking for a medium to large sized college where the team is competitive and I would be a good fit.  My coaches have commented that I have a big upside, so I would like a school whose coach would be interested in helping me reach my full potential.  Trainers have told me that I am coachable and quickly pick up on instruction, and I appreciate any instruction.  I am ready to put forth the effort both Academically and Athletically and grow into a young man that my coach would be proud of.
