Jack Porter '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jack Porter. I am a Senior, 3-year Captain, and 3-year Varsity Letterman for my Varsity Golf Team. I was named Player of the Year for my conference for 2022, and was awarded 1^st Team East District for 2020 and 2021, and 2^nd Team East District as a Freshman in 2019. I competed in the Under Armour Junior Tour in 2021 and finished 2^nd in the Mid-Ohio Valley region, advancing to the National Championship in Orlando, FL. There, I earned 6^th place and was awarded All-American Honors. That 6^th place finish afforded me the opportunity to compete this Summer in the 2022 Under Armour World Championship. I placed 15th in the UA Worlds. 

Some of my core values include:

• Leadership. I push myself and my teammates to strive to do their best every single round- whether it be in a practice or a match. I try to be a role model for the younger players by holding myself to this high standard.

Having a strong work ethic. Whether it is in basketball or golf, I am always the first one in the gym, or on the course. If I’m not in either of those places, you can find me in my yard chipping, putting, or working on drills. (I took my driver to my basketball camp last summer)

My ultimate goal is to play golf at the collegiate level, while obtaining a degree in either Business/PGM or Sports Management. My future plans include becoming a certified PGA professional.
