I have been golfing competitively since I was 5 years old and I love it! I want to continue to golf competitively at the University level and at the same time, receive an education. My preferred field of study is Business, focusing in on Sports Management. I have a passion for sports and I also have an interest in Business, therefore, it only makes sense to pursue a degree in Sports Management to blend the two together. My dream occupation or aspiration would be to become a General Manager for a Professional Sports Team and/or be an agent for players trying to make it in the big leagues.
For the past 3 years, I have been named Captain for my Travel Hockey Team. My Head Coach describes me as a committed, responsible and respectful leader who leads by example. I have a willingness to learn, an open-mind and I am accepting of advice/constructive criticism. These traits have served me well whether I am on the ice rink, on the golf course or in everyday life.
I am a down-to-earth, relaxed and composed individual. Especially during stressful or pressure situations, I am able to keep calm, think rationally and proceed logically. When I am on the golf course or in the arena, it is very rare to see me get upset. I may be frustrated in the moment but that is rarely shown outwardly. I rather channel that frustration and turn it into a more positive emotion, one that I can use in a more positive way. This way, I dig deeper and focus more on the end result whether it be nailing my chip after missing the green on my approach shot or saucing the perfect pass to my winger, setting them up for a goal opportunity in hockey.
In recent years, my weekly schedule has become somewhat busy with school, work, golf and travel hockey. On top of that, there are other functions that need my attention or my presence at such as family birthdays, holiday celebrations, volunteer opportunities and etc. I quickly learned that time management was very important and that there wasn't much wiggle room for procrastination. I know that I want to be successful in school and I want to give my best at work, golf and hockey. In order to achieve that, I have learned how to budget my time wisely, focus and get down to the business at hand as well as take care of myself by eating right and getting enough rest.
