Since I was a young boy of 3 years old, I have always felt at one with my golf clubs. I spent my last 13 summers living in a golf community with the neighbours chuckling, “here comes Charlie with his clubs, there goes Charlie with his clubs”. I have also had the privilege of being exposed to many team sports; competitive tennis, skiing, badminton, running. Although playing against myself in golf, I love the team aspect. Winning alone is a great feeling but with a group of peers that respect and encourage each other’s games is even better. In 2019, I was fortunate enough to fulfill a life goal (probably for many golfers) and be invited to play for the Canadian Junior team in St. Andrews, Scotland 🏴 winning all of my matches 4-0 for Canada; what an amazing time. We even slept out to play the old course on our “free” day, where I shot a 72. The memories of this trip and playing with my teammates are irreplaceable. I think of myself as a person of character and have great pride in my honesty, ethics and integrity. This means so much to me. I work hard at my academics as well as with my U19 golfers at the Glen Abbey Academy. I am currently a grade 12 prefect. The primary focus at this stage of my golf career is to achieve a golf scholarship to a school with a coach that works well with my character and personality and can accommodate my success as a golfer and for their team.
