I started golf aged, 12, and before that I played rugby and cricket. When I made my first birdie aged, 13, that night I decided golf was the pathway where I could train and develop my passion for sport with a purpose and plan to achieve my long-term goal and become a professional sportsman on the PGA Tour. The next semester while attending our local high school, I asked my mom if I could start correspondence education because I wanted to train during the day and have flexible hours for my school work at night as I knew I had a lot of catching up to do in my golf training.
So I started studying an American high school curriculum; Accelerated Christian Education, founded at Texas. This curriculum is used in the States and also internationally by hundreds of private Christian High Schools which has an option for home schooling. Each subject requires I sit between 10-12 tests per year which are supervised by my mum and then she sends the tests into our moderator at an umbrella organization called Home Schooling New Zealand. They mark my tests and upload my test scores to a VPC online platform which documents and records my test results for every subject for every year. These test scores determine my GPA transcript.
Then in December 2016 my coach at Windross Farm Golf Club nominated me for the Auckland Golf representative under 19 Development Squad.
Later, in 2018, I was awarded a half paid scholarship to join the Junior Elite Golf Academy with Marcus Wheelhouse, NZ PGA Coach of the Year 2017. I train with a handful of other Juniors twice a week during school term.
Last year in 2020, I was selected to represent our region/province, Auckland, at the New Zealand Junior Interprovincial under 19 golf Tournament.
Over the years I have enjoyed community, volunteer work helping and assisting our PGA Golf Pro with coaching beginner players on Tuesday's at our club Junior Golf lesson.
I will graduate high school in July 2021 and then I plan to take a gap year to travel to Order of Merit Golf tournaments while studying a one year online business course in New Zealand. Thereafter I will start my freshman year in August 2022.
