Personal Statement

In a world where there are challenges that a group of individuals faces, a leader who takes decisive action will improve the community and inspire individuals around him or her.

Leadership and decisive action make people feel safe around you and they are more inclined to follow your lead. When faced with a challenge, especially as a group, I am the one who takes the initiative to lead and make plans.  My early exposure to sports has taught me grit, resilience and confidence and respect to my coaches, trainers and my competitors.  Obtaining my 3rd degree black belt in martial arts at the age of 14 and winning the Junior Links STPGA championship required a lot of discipline, training and balance while maintaining my academic excellence.  Being in a school where sports are not highly invested in, it has been a challenge to compete in school golf tournaments. However, in the Fall of 2021, I took the initiative to present a compelling case to the Head of Athletics and Dean at my school, BASIS San Antonio Shavano, to create and lead a golf team for the school where we compete in state level golf tournaments. Because of my commitment to leading the golf team, I have expanded the institution of sports at BASIS San Antonio Shavano, and I have inspired my peers to create more clubs and sports teams that were not previously available at our school.  Graduating this May 2024 as Class Salutatorian, Student Council President, and 2x TSCAAL Varsity Boys Golf TX State Champion, I am on track for a promising future and look forward to attending college having been accepted to a few pursuing a degree in Health, Exercise Science and Kinesiology.

It is important that there are leaders in the world who take the initiative to lead by example so that others can follow in their footsteps. Being a leader improves the community as a whole, whether it be in school, athletics, the workplace, or the family. Leaders take action.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
