For me, I was born into golf, my dad and uncles would always play, talk and watch golf. My dad took me out with him every time he played and even out to every "Shell Houston Open" for the couple years I had with him. Palm View was the first course I played at, and where my love for golf really began. I can recall spending countless hours hitting out of the sand pits and the exact sound of the range ball dispenser. I can still hear him getting mad at me every time the frustration hit, and I said I never wanted to play again. Golf helped me realize the danger of frustration and how anger can change the way you think and the way you do. I've carried this realization into every sport I play and to every challenge I have faced, even teaching my learnings to the people around me. I earned myself the responsibility of a leader of my basketball team, being how the last senior "leaders" where the farthest thing to role models. I figured out the mood of the people we surround ourselves can completely affects us, and as a team. I needed to be the one to keep our spirits high since no one else would, having everyone in check on the court and in the weight room. I've made personalized work out plans for many of my friends when they have asked and even started a golf team within the school. After the many heard of my lone trip to Austin alone for regionals, ten more students decided they wanted to try out. Which was the only time we have ever had a sort of try outs in this little school. This sparked an interest in them for a sport they've basically never heard of. So not only did I start a boy's golf program at my school but now we have a girl's program as well. I couldn't be prouder. But I wouldn't want my career in golf to end in high school, I believe I have the ability for so much more.
