Personal Statement

I am currently a senior and play varsity golf for Midway High School in Waco, Texas. I love the game of golf and practice every chance I get with my teammates as well as outside of school. As a mostly all A student, I have successfully learned to balance academics, golf and marching band for the last 3 years. I am also in a dual credit history class this year and work part time at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. It would be a dream come true to play golf at the college level while earning a degree. I am driven, hard working and always practicing to improve every aspect of my golf game. I even enjoy working out to improve my strength and flexibility. You would be hard pressed to find a more determined, honest, and reliable teammate to represent your school.

Not my best day....started with a birdie, then lost my way for a bit and felt very uncomfortable over the ball. I got it back together on the back 9 with a couple birdies to go four over. Planning on getting a few lessons and playing more for fun over the next week to get my game back to a higher level.

This was my first tournament after over 2 months due to the pandemic. I had a great start with a 37 on the front 9. On the back 9, I shot 43 for an 80. I had two birdies in a row. Placed 5th out of 20.

I shot my best tournament round ever with a 75. I was tied for 9th out of 58. This was suppose to be a two day tournament, but we were only able to play the first round due to the corona virus. 38 on front 9 and 37 on back 9....no 3 putts, no doubles and 2 birdies!!!!

I shot 83 both days. It was my first time playing this course. I had a great comeback both days...first day I went 46/37 and the second day I went 45/38. Slow start each round but a strong finish.

The first day the temperature hovered around 35 degrees, and I shot 88. I only hit 3 greens. The second day I was having the best round of my life...I was 3 over through 12 holes. Then I went 5 over in the last 5 holes to shoot 80. I did hit a lot more greens and my score improved.

First round score:84 I shot 46 on front nine and a 38 on the back nine with two birdies. On the front nine, I went OB three times on one hole which led to the 46. Unfortunately, I had to withdraw during the second round because of sickness.

Day one round: 92 Day two round: 79 The day one temperature when I teed off was 38 degree/wind chill 30 degrees. The wind was blowing 14 mph. Tough conditions = tough round for me with a 92. I battled back on Sunday to shoot 79! I received the "biggest move" award for my comeback round!

45 degrees and very windy for first round. I played well, fighting through the cold. I had one tough hole..drive went OB twice, so the 86 is with a 9. 2nd day..2 birdies and a quad for an 81.
