Hello, my name is Timothy Nail. I began playing golf at the age of 13. The appeal of golf first started to occur to me after I saw Adam Scott win the 2013 Masters tournament and I have been hooked ever since! In my first three years of high school golf I have qualified for the WIAA 3A State Tournament each year, including a finish inside the top 30 for my most recent year. I have also been voted as the most valuable player by my coach and by my teammates each year since I was a freshman. I have won two Washington Junior Golf Association sub-district events. In 2016, I also qualified for the winning Washington Cup team, which is run through the Pacific Junior Golf Tour.
My schooling is done at home, however I am allowed to play on Shelton High School's varsity golf team. I plan to major in the field of business. There are many different types of business degrees that I could choose but one of particular interest to me is sports management. After college I hope to turn professional in golf. This could include anything from being a touring professional, to becoming a PGA professional at a local golf course. An honest assessment of my skills later on will dictate which path I will go down.
I plan on playing a number of junior tournaments this year. These include events played on the Washington Junior Golf Association and the Pacific Junior Golf Tour. I would also like to play in qualifying events for the United States Open, the United States Amateur, the Washington State Men's Amateur, and the United States Junior Amateur. From the moment I started playing golf I dreamt of playing golf on a collegiate and professional level. I have worked very hard to hone my playing skills to be able to achieve this dream and I am very excited for what the future holds. Thank you.
