I would be honored to have the opportunity to play golf during college and take my game to the next level of competition. My golf journey started at the age of 5 when I took my first lesson at my home course, Lake Wissota Golf Course. Every Friday, my friends and I would meet at the golf course for our lesson, and we would have chipping, putting and longest drive competitions. We would always stay long after the lesson was over so that we could play extra holes. When we couldn’t make it to the golf course, I would create an 18 hole golf course in my backyard using the trees as the holes. I would practice chipping around the yard all day because I wanted to improve my game. At the age of 14, I applied to work at Lake Wissota Golf Course and have enjoyed working there for 3 summers. I have gained valuable experience at my job and feel very lucky to be able to work in a place that I enjoy being. I have built relationships with my high school golf coach and teammates that are very strong. I was able to qualify as an individual this year for the WI State Golf Tournament and my teammates drove to Wisconsin Rapids to cheer me on at the tournament. It takes a lot of mental strength to play golf competitively and I believe that I excel at staying mentally strong when things get tough. Golf can be a very humbling game since there are so many challenges and anything can happen depending on the day. Playing in college would be an amazing experience and I am looking forward to it!
I am a very determined person when it comes to anything I am passionate about. Whether I am on the golf course or in the classroom, I give 100% all of the time. Whenever I have free time, I always go to the golf course and continue to improve my game as much as possible. I have always been passionate about every sport I play. Currently, I’m a varsity player for 3 high school sports: golf, hockey and football. My teammates see me as a reliable team player and many of my coaches over the years have told me that I was a very coachable athlete. I always listen to constructive criticism and try to perform to the best of my ability in every sport. When it comes to the classroom, I will put in the effort and dedication to maintain a good GPA. I am consistently on the honor roll and my education and golf career are both extremely important to me.
I always set high expectations and goals for myself whether it is in the classroom or on the golf course. One of the goals I have is to major in accounting, business administration, or finance. Another goal I have is to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA average throughout college. Meeting new people and building relationships beyond college is something I’m looking forward to. As for golf, my goal is to keep improving my game. Within my first year of college, I hope to help the team win a conference championship. As a team player, I will always do my best for my teammates and others around me.
