Golf is a game that consumes my mind and is deep in my blood. Today I am a student in this sport making massive gains every time I pick up a club. Although I played junior golf the last 6 years at the local course I really didn't start to figure this out until my Freshman year when I made the JV golf team. Now in my Sophomore year I made Varsity and it is starting to come together for me. Now I am hooked and I am practicing daily either at the range, on a course, or in the living room. Most recently I shot my first 39 at a great golf course Morningstar. My goal this summer is to score below 80 on 18. Currently I am averaging about 85 on 18 holes. Additionally my love for other sports like baseball, soccer, football, Hockey have kept me busy and contribute to my success in golf being an athlete first. My parents played a huge role in keeping me busy my entire youth. Both of my parents are active in sports and health either at the gym or coaching. Today in High School I have now settled in 3 sports Hockey, Football and Golf. Seeing how hard they both work in the day and how devoted they are away from work drives me to make them proud.
Competing at so many sports has really helped me excel in each other. Developing skills and muscles that crossover both mental and physical has elevated my level of skill in each sport. The exposure to so many different coaches over the years has had a major impact in my life. Learning about winning and losing and how to compete plays a major role in my character and personality. Although I am active in multiple sports I still enjoy working on my game outside of each season in camps, in our living room, our garage or over at Moorland golf which is open year round. I really enjoy practice and working away from practice to get that edge. My Dad always wanted me to be great at each thing I do; however, he never wanted me to not love and have fun doing it. I am motivated to continue to grow in this sport and be the number one golfer at Eisenhower.
I have been the starting Quarterback in football for 7 years in a row and voted as a captain as well. I have lost one game in the last 3 years leading my teammates. This experience has helped develop me in a massive leadership role in sports and in life. My other passions like Hockey and snow boarding have contributed to my athletic strength. I feel this gives me a competitive edge over some of the kids that just golf. In leadership, my friends and classmates often look to me to come up with the game plan for the given day. Although my Dad insists on me being humble I can say that I am proud of the man I am becoming confident and ready to help my next Golf team and school shine. Leaders are needed in so many aspects of life.
I am ready to compete in college Golf. I am excited to take the next step in my education and lead new friends and teammates.
