At age 7, when I first moved to Burnaby, BC, from Houston, TX, I was very nervous. I didn't know what I was going to do, or how I was going to fit in. Eventually, I found hockey and a passion quickly arose. Something about the sport and the goalie position appealed to me. Throughout my minor hockey career, I continually grew as a person and developed my hockey skills. I was fortunate enough to make the step up to Major Bantam AAA (U15 AAA), which enabled me to fine-tune my skills against harder competition. Currently, I play for the North West Hawks in the BCMiML (U16 AAA), where I plan to further develop every aspect of my game and prepare for the next level.
Throughout my years of playing hockey, I learned many things that have aided me in everything I've done. I learned the importance of commitment, self-sacrifice, accountability, and self-motivation. Not only are those qualities evident in my success as a hockey player, but also as a student. I strive to be the best on the ice, off the ice, and in the classroom. All the early mornings and late nights working out and studying will pay off. My goal is to earn a spot on an NCAA team and pursue post-secondary education. I am aware that this is a strenuous task, but I am willing to do anything and everything in my power to make it happen.
