When I was around 4, I was taken to one of my brothers hockey games and while I was watching him I thought something along the lines of “this games looks so boring” shortly down the line, my parents had put me in a kids program that began my journey in hockey. I had never really had much pride in the sport until around 2018 when we were having a team scrimmage and I was picked last which turned on something in my head to prove everyone that I’m better then they think. I decided to start putting in the extra work and the more I worked on myself, the more I found how big hockey is for me. Eventually, my worked payed off and in this 2021-2022 season, I was voted into the spot of an alternate captain. The main thing that set me apart from the others is my size, strength, and mindset. I am one of the biggest kids on my team yet my speed is not lacking while also having the upper body strength to own my corner in the D-zone and in front of the net. No matter how much our team is winning or losing, I’m always keeping a smile on my face while trying to hype up my teammates. I am not afraid to throw a hit and to protect my goalies and teammates at whatever the cost is. I am very physical but extremely clean as to not be a liability to our team. My shot has greatly improved as well as my hand-eye coordination and hockey IQ. My hand-eye coordination and hockey IQ still has a long path but is being improved by the day. I also have befriended all of my team and while some people are closer then others, I can always relay on all of them when I need it and they can always rely on me.
