Thank you for viewing my profile. I am looking to play as an ice hockey goalie in the Fall 2020 Semester. Last season, as the starting goalie for the JV South County Panthers in the LA Kings High School Hockey League I helped our team win the Division Championship. My save percentage for the season is .910 and I am ranked as the #1 goalie in the division with an 11-1 season. One of the proudest moments of my life was winning that game and having the honor of playing it at the Staples Center on the same ice where the LA Kings play their home games.
For the 2019/2020 season, I have been drafted to play starting goalie for the Varsity East County Outlaws in the LA Kings High School Hockey League. My season starts in September and I will be posting our game schedule as soon as it is official.
For as much as I am passionate about hockey, it wasn't where I started my athletic career. Baseball was actually the first sport I fell in love with. I started playing t-ball at age 4 and continued to play Pony league & travel baseball for the following 10 years, including the opportunity to play in a tournament in Cooperstown, NY. I played pitcher and shortstop and had a quick glove. In between baseball seasons, I played AYSO soccer and was drawn to the goalie position. The hand/eye coordination that I developed as an infielder in baseball, were the same skills I needed to dominate in goal. During my 12U season, I was drafted as the #1 goalie pick for the All-Star season.
At 12 years old, I was mesmerized while watching the LA Kings win the Stanley Cup Finals and I instantly developed an itch to play hockey. My parents were hesitant to support this idea and warned me about making a switch to a completely new sport as a teen. After all, I had never skated before in my life and had only a small understanding of NHL rules. Once I convinced them how serious I was, they agreed to let me play in a local roller-hockey league. I quickly discovered that I was the happiest playing goalie. I dedicated that year to learning all I could about the sport. I practiced skating and puck-handling daily and stretched and worked on my flexibility, including doing the splits, every chance I could. The muscle-memory that I developed from fielding in baseball and playing goalie in soccer, made me an unconventional, but efficient hockey goalie. It wasn't long before I was playing ice hockey and working one-on-one with a goalie coach to get me up to speed. My hard work and dedication paid off when I was drafted to play for the JV South County Panthers in the LA Kings High School Hockey League last year and am now about to start the 2019/2020 season on the Varsity East County Outlaws.
I am currently a Senior at Granada Hills Charter High School where I am involved in the Global Business and Finance Program. Through this academic program, I have learned about entrepreneurship, money management, and business enterprise. Along with hockey, I am also passionate about theme-park development and consider myself a rollercoaster enthusiast. I currently have a part-time job working as a ride operator at Six Flags Magic Mountain where I have become a certified operator after only 4 months of employment. My ultimate goal is to attend a college where I can play hockey while earning a degree in Tourism, Hospitality and/or Recreation Management that I can apply to a career in either theme-park development or something related to the hockey industry.
I would like to invite you to watch me play in person at one of my games with the Varsity East County Outlaws. Please contact me and I can provide the schedule. In the meantime, please take a look at my video footage on my NCSA profile page and contact me with any questions or to set up a tour of your school.
