Jake Rossi '20 Recruiting Profile

My long range goal is to attend a college/university that  will help prepare me for life, achieving my goals & aspirations, while contributing my goaltending skills along the way, both in practice &/or in games. Ultimately helping the betterment of the school's ice hockey program. They say hockey goalies are a unique breed of players & I am just that. Since I’ve learned to skate, the only position I've ever wanted to play was goalie. Overlooked because of size, I have surprised the many who questioned my ability to play the position. I find it challenging and rewarding making me want to be a better player.

 I take pride in the HS I currently attend. It is a college prep HS with a decorated ice hockey team, most recently winning Our 2nd USA Hockey 2018 National Championship (High School DIV I) In EPIC OT that went viral.The team is Coached by Olympian & former NHL player Craig Johnson (with weekly goalie instruction by former AHL player Troy Redman).

  I believe talent alone won't make you successful if your not willing to put the work in, not to mention earning your place on the team. I've been told I'm on the quiet side, I believe you do not need to be a follower to gain respect. Be “you”, play your aggressive game & always have your teammates back. I prefer structure. There is no room for arrogance in the paint, that's a good way to get burned. I believe a goalie must be confident yet humble.
