I grew up loving sports like hockey, baseball, football and basketball. At that age no matter what sport I was playing I was having a great time. Growing up in Northern California left me few opportunities to play ice hockey but at 10 years old, I was provided the opportunity to try ice hockey. From my first step on the ice I knew that this was my sport. I soon started playing travel hockey, I became dedicated to the sport. I was either playing on the ice or practicing in my garage for hours. Hockey is not just the best sport in the world but it also teaches us how to deal with real life situations. I’ve learned about leadership, dedication and how to participate as a teamplayer. These are skills that are going to help me throughout the rest of my life. I believe that other athletics have also positively influenced the person that I am today. I play other high school sports like baseball and golf. Additionally, I often participate in other activities like surfing and working out. I put my heart into the game every time that I step on the ice, every shift, working as hard as I can.
My goal for high school is to be successful academically. I am grateful for being able to go to an excellent high school that teaches me about the world as well as general education. I want to graduate from college, be able to look back and know that college has influenced me for the better I also hope that these experiences help me throughout my life. I have always have been smaller in size and that has been an obstacle in my life as well as on the ice. Always knowing that I am one of the smallest players is not easy. But I’ve practice shooting and stickhandling for hours, as well as going to the gym 5 days a week and I know that I may be the smallest but I am also one of the hardest to defend. Being smaller than most has taught me that I have to work harder in other areas. People often think that because someone is small that they are at a disadvantage but I know that I have become a better hockey player because of it. Recently are season just ended and after a great season I got awarded mvp for my team. I
