Personal Statement

Lance is excited to announce that he has committed to play for George Mason University's ACHA D1 team for the 2022/2023 season.

My goal is to play for a competitive collegiate ice hockey program, a sport I am passionate about because of its impact on my life. I have been playing hockey for over 14 years and the sport and my coaches have taught me valuable life lessons that have made me the young man that I am today. I’ve learned discipline, leadership skills, the ability to work through adversity, and strategize with others and a strong work ethic. All skills that will be applied to my education and future career. Being able to compete under the title of my school at a college level and continue the sport I love, has been a dream of mine since I started playing the sport.

As a professional career, I am interested in getting a degree in law, where as a lawyer or as part of the FBI, I can work to effect positive change in society.  Over the period of COVID pandemic, I made many self-discoveries, as the world began to shake, and the true injustices of America began to shine through the cracks of social media into the public’s eyes. I realized how much I want to be involved in making positive changes to eliminate social injustices. Studying history and public policy will arm me with knowledge to pursue a career where I can help those who need the most help.  Through my church, I have worked with the Sierra Service Project (SSP) to volunteer in communities all along the West Coast to help serve underprivileged communities (Chiloquin, OR, Smith River, CA, and Spokane, Wa) earning 3 Silver President’s Volunteer Service Awards.

Outside of hockey, my hobbies include Ceramics, pottery, surfing, and cooking just to name a few.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
