For the last six years, I trained 40 hrs or more each weekon and off the ice. Over that time, I have traveled the country playing against the best elite teams and players while maintaining a high GPA in school. I was lucky enough to play in the USA Hockey Tier One National Championship Tournament two consecutive years (15O and 16U), with two different teams. Yet, I have never remembered having as much fun in this game, than right now.
Having taken a step back from playing AAA hockey, hasallowed me to reconnect with what it was I loved so much about this game. For this season I won’t stress as much about how many points I got last game, worrying about playtime, lamenting each mistake, or stressing over who was watching. This hockey season is about my Senior year playing High School hockey, rediscovering the joy of playing for my teammates, and the love of competing for something other than my own benefit.
I am always interested in learning and progressing, first and foremost. I am very open to playing Junior hockey andCollege hockey. Currently, I am not so focused on the level of teams, but much more interested in finding the right opportunities with the right organizations, with the right teammates, and playing for the right coaches. I have learned what it is like to be on a good team, but in the wrong role or place for me. I want to find the right placewhere I can help and play for those around me in earnest, in doing so, helping myself to be better.
I also want to find places that intrigue my numerous interests outside of hockey. I love spending time with family and friends. My time on the road has taught me that these things are most important. My coaches and teammates should be that second family, when my familyis not around. Playing hockey, I’ve spent a lot of time away from home and learning to live on my own, which has helped me become a stronger, more independent person. More importantly, I have learned it is so much harder to do it all alone, we are all just better together!
I also want to be somewhere where I can participate in my other joys in life such as golfing, fishing, and the outdoors. When my hockey career comes to the end of the road, I want to be prepared to pursue a career in wildlife management or wildlife biology.
Lastly, I am Keegan Adams, a 6’ tall, 180 lb., two-way defenseman. I’m aggressive on the ice, I skate fast, I hit hard, and play even harder. I hope this gives you a hint of who I am as a person, a student, and a potential player. Hopefully I might be someone who is of interest for your team, assuming you might be the right coach with the right program. Either way, thank you for your time and interest in reading about me.
