Personal Statement

My name is Brandon Price. I am a Senior at Marist School in Atlanta Georgia. I am left handed, 6'0" tall and weigh 170 pounds.

I am a non-traditional Ice Hockey player in that I did not grow up playing ice hockey or even skating.  I was a top ranked 12 & under tennis player who decided I would much rather play a team sport.  So at 12, I took skating lessons, played house league for 2 years, then played one year of Bantam A, and then 2 years of U16AAA (NAPHL 2013/14 & USPHL 2014/15) hockey.  For the 2015-2016 season I will be playing for the Atlanta Fire U18AAA (NJPHL) team.

My dream has been to be able to play college hockey at a high level while obtaining a first class education at a university with an Engineering or Physical Sciences based academic program.  I am a very strong student and I play Ice Hockey and Varsity Tennis.  During my sophomore and junior year, I was able to move up and play Tier 1/AAA level hockey.  I think of myself as a solid athlete who is a "student of the game", teachable and focused on skills, strategy and execution. I consider myself a leader first; I think every team needs leaders that are focused on communication, execution of our strategies and awareness of what the opponent is attempting to do to circumvent us.

I am one of four boys in my family.  My oldest brother is an NCAA D1 swimmer majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly.  My second oldest brother attends Emory University; he was a top ranked Juniors and High School tennis player and now is an avid rock climber/mountaineer who leads climbs and expeditions.  My younger brother is a rising 9th grader who also plays Bantam AA ice hockey and is a very talented musician.

As a student athlete and leader I intend to do my part on and off the ice to help my team to success.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
