My goal is to attend a college or university that will allow me to explore my interests in athletic training, criminal justice, forensic science, or human services while being able to play hockey. With these goals in mind, I strive to perform my best in both school and the game of hockey. In school I have challenged myself with honors level courses and worked hard to be inducted into the National Honor Society. Since the start of high school, I have also worked hard to improve my hockey game. This encompassed more gym time to improve my size, speed, and strength and more ice time to focus on necessary skill development. On the ice, I lead by example working hard on both sides of the ice with the primary goal of helping my team to be their absolute best. Even if I may not be the most skilled person on the ice each time, I give 110% every time I step on the ice. Off the ice I am a positive role model for my teammates. I model commitment to my team by attending all practices and games. I demonstrate good sportsmanship by having a positive attitude and helping others to also exhibit good sportsmanship. These leadership qualities have been noticed by my coach. I received the iron man award for never missing a practice, weight training session, or game. I also have received the weight room award and the most improved award. I have always dreamed to play in college and even further, but I know that my education goals are just as important if not more important. Attending a university will allow me to achieve both of these goals. I look forward to showing this high level of passion, attitude, and hard work to reach my goals on the ice and in the classroom.
