I have been fortunate enough to play hockey in Sweden, Finland, Canada and the US. It has given me the opportunity to become a better athlete and person by improving my ability to adapt to different circumstances and cultures, and handle stress and pressure. It has developed my social skills and my capacity to communicate in different contexts.
My competitiveness is what drew me to hockey, I don’t like to lose and it motivates me to work harder on and off the ice. For me, hockey is not just a physical sport but a mental one. Hockey stimulates my brain as I like to analyze my games and make conclusions.
I can play I whatever role or position is required of me. I play for the greater good of the team and not just for my own pride, but my team's too. I constantly aim to be better and enjoy learning about the minute details about the game. I specialize in playmaking and shutdown defence. Starting a breakout from my own zone with a crisp first pass while trying to create space and time for my teammates is my favorite part of the game. A close second is shutting down the other team's top forwards as I had 0 goals against this past high school season.
When I am not playing Hockey, I like to play music. I have played Cello for over 10 years and I play guitar in my school's Jazz band.
With that, I want to attend a college where I can be challenged both academically and athletically. I am open to all options as I want to find the right college match for me at the highest level of competition possible.
