Coming to Cranbrook as a freshman was a big change in my life. I had already moved from Massachusetts to Ohio and finally to Indiana before I made the choice to go to Cranbrook in Michigan. But of course, it was different from moving homes; I was moving away from family and friends and living in my own home. However, I quickly adapted, met new people, and became part if an amazing hockey program. Overall, I grew and am still growing, into a more independent, mature, student-athlete.
My freshman year, I played for the JV hockey team. At first, I was disappointed that I was not on the varsity team but I soon realized that it was a good thing. I adapted to play with other kids one, two, even three years older than me. I had a great season that prepared me for my sophomore season on the Varsity team.
The Cranbrook hockey program has taught me the value of brotherhood, commitment, and discipline. For these characteristics, I have learned and taken into my character I am looking for a strong program that emphasizes these values, as well as a program that has a well rounded academic course. Not only do I believe I have the talent and ability to play at the junior and collegiate level, but I also have the character, coachability, dedication and will to compete at higher levels. I know that I have what it takes to make an immediate impact on your team.
