Hello, my name is Sarah Weissman, and I’m looking forward to diving in college. Growing up I did a lot of different sports, including gymnastics (artistic and trampoline) & swimming, and started diving at the age of 6. For years I dove 1m and 3m, but would try platform whenever I was at a larger pool or at camp. During my freshman year I decided to focus on swimming and diving, and switched diving clubs to Club Wolverine, which offered platform diving, and enjoyed about a year of training before the Covid lockdown. While diving is more of an individual sport, I love the team aspect of encouraging and supporting athletes. I’m hard working but I also like to have fun and connect with my fellow teammates. I hope to study education and become a school teacher or a counselor, and to coach in my spare time. I look forward to talking with you about how I could help your team in the future.
Since I originally wrote my personal statement, my club shut down. I am now focused on my senior high school season and will return to club (new club, new coach, same pool) in November after State meet.
