When I started playing tennis at the age of nine I saw the start of a new life for me and immediately fell in love with the sport. When I first was learning how to play I saw myself as a beginner while kids my age were playing tournaments around the nation. I was still learning the basics and the rules of the sport. I didn’t see this as a problem, rather I saw it as an obstacle that would just make tennis more fun for me. I was willing to commit hours of my time to try to catch up to my peers and there was no greater feeling than being on the court and competing against people that were better than me only a few months ago. My love for tennis comes from my love for competing. Tennis was an outlet for me which opened up many opportunities for me and I can’t imagine not having it as I move towards college and a new part of my life.
