My name is Ryder Carlson and I am currently a Junior at Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria, MN. I have been a member of my high school golf team since 8th grade. Holy Family Catholic competes against many of the best teams in Minnesota, and this past season (2024) we won the Class 2AA State Tournament and were runners up in 2023. I had a solid spring season, ranking 2nd out of all Sophomores in Class 2AA, and I finished T14 overall at State. I finished 10th overall in 2023 as a Freshman.
I play on a number of different junior tours throughout the year, and I enjoy events big and small, close to home and around the world. I have competed at Augusta National Golf Club (2019 Drive, Chip & Putt National Championship), Grayhawk Golf Club (2021 PGA Junior League National Championship), Pinehurst (2024 US Kids Teen World Championships) and St. Andrews / Carnoustie (2024 Scotland Junior Golf Invitational). I love this game and learning about the places that I am fortunate enough to play.
I am continuing to work hard on improving all areas of my game. I have grown almost six inches since the school year started and I have been adjusting my swing (and my clubs) to accommodate. Distance control is a big area of focus for me right now, as well as learning to shape my shots more consistently. My strengths are my short game and getting up and down when I need to keep the momentum going. I think my best playing days are ahead of me, as I continue to improve every year.
