David Malaniak '20 Recruiting Profile

I’m a strong, two-way, aggressive defenseman who stands at 6’2” and weighs 205 lbs.  I possess a diverse variety of skills and talents.  I utilize my size and strength to deliver big hits and hard slapshots.  With my speed, agility and edge control, I produce quick transitions as well as stop breakaways and odd-man rushes.  My puck passing skills are crisp and accurate.  My assertiveness and loyalty for the team is illustrated in shot blocking skills.

I’m a twelve-year club hockey player.  Currently, I’m in my fourth season of play for the Brick Township High School Varsity Ice Hockey Team where I have the privilege of serving as the team’s captain wearing the #19.

I have deep passion, love, respect for the game.  My enthusiasm and ability to promote positive attitude and sportsmanship are demonstrated both on and off the ice. I’m a Level 3 Certified USA Hockey Official and I hold a certification in SafeSport. 

I am well-rounded and take pride in my academics.  My GPA is 3.3.  I’m looking forward to pursuing my strong desire to excel both athletically and academically on the collegiate level.
