John Clancy '20 Recruiting Profile

I have achieved many of my past goals and I have now set collegiate goals. I look to strive to become the best goalie that I can be and to ultimately be the main goaltender for whichever team I play for. 

I am a great candidate for any team because I am very quick on my feet and I know how to work through the toughest times that happen during a game mentally and physically. I never give up on any play and I will always do whatever I can to stop the puck.

I stand out from other recruits because I will always be there to support my teammates as others will just criticize them and put them down. I will help my teammates in whatever way I can.

Every summer I volunteer at my town's public library. There are various events that young kids attend and I help these kids with any assistance that they require. I always do my best to have fun with kids and to not be strict with them at all. Also last season my J.V. Ice Hockey team attended a buddy skate at Dix Hills Ice Rink where kids with special needs go and ice skate with hockey players. It is always a blast and every person always has a smile on their face. 

Athletically, I am different from others because I always put in the work that is necessary to achieve my goals, I always get mentally and physically prepared before a practice, game, or tryout.

Academically, I always try to do whatever I can to get the highest grades I can. I never settle with what I originally get as I look to always find a way to improve any grades that I get.
