I was about 6 when I first started skating. Growing up, I live in a very hockey-oriented house where both of my parents loved the Islanders and watched every hockey game. My parents didn’t really influence me to play but supported introducing hockey to me. Since then, all I ever wanted to do was play hockey, become those pros that I watched on tv every night and be better than everyone else. A personal goal that I always set for myself is to work harder than everybody. It doesn’t matter how hard you’re working; I’m going to outwork everyone. I love getting recognized for how hard I work, not necessarily how skilled I am. I love the feeling of knowing people see me as that kid who doesn’t stop and works his tail off the entire game. My current and previous coaches over the years helped me overcome personal struggles and train hard leading to this version of my hockey play. My family has also been the most important help to me by providing guidance to keep my academics in check along with hockey. Ever since I was in middle school, I’ve always received good grades and continuing a high GPA in high school.
