I have been playing hockey since I was three years old. For most of those 14 years I have played hockey year round while playing other sports, excelling academically and participating in various extracurricular clubs. I believe that my desire, discipline, hockey sense, adaptability and ability to get along with everyone makes me a strong candidate for any organization looking for a player at my level.
Living in Massena, NY which borders Ontario, Canada, I have had the opportunity to play hockey year round, both in the states and in the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario. This has allowed me to develop an ability to learn quickly and adapt my game to different systems of play. Within my local hockey association, I have had the opportunity to lead my team to 3 sectional championships, 2 NY State Championships, and a third place finish in the USA Hockey National Championship I have been honored with the sectional MVP award and was the recipient of the Robert V. Webber award. For eight years, I have played AAA hockey in the spring and summer months while also playing on my high school baseball team. I have been invited and participated in the NYSAHA Player Development Camp for the past 4 years. I have participated in the Can-Am Lake Placid Elite Player Camp for the past 4 years and I also spend time volunteering on the ice for our local summer youth hockey camps. I was extremely proud to be the only freshman forward to make the Massena Central School Varsity Hockey Team for the 2014-2015 season where we went on to win the Section 10 Championship. During the 2015-16 high school hockey season we again won Section 10 Championship and that same season, as sophomore, I received recognition for being the Section 10 leading scorer. This year I am playing Tier 1 hockey with the Syracuse Stars.
As a student athlete, dedication to the sport that you love to play is very important. But, my mom and dad have taught me that being a well rounded person and a good student are just as important. I work hard in school to maintain honor roll status and have strong peer friendships.
I have been involved in many extracurricular activities and other sports. For several years I played minor lacrosse. In the summer of 2012 I decided to try out for baseball and was successful in making the major travel team. I have been a member of the Junior High and JV baseball teams. I also play soccer on the JV team and was on the modified team in Junior High. My other interests include being a WEB leader in junior high, a member of the French club, the Interact club, being a student helper in the high school nurse's office, and a referee through NYS for ice hockey.
Lastly, I believe that I have many strong characteristics that are required to be a successful student and athlete at the collegiate level; a strong work ethic, persistence, adaptability and likability. As I start my junior year of high school, I will continue to push myself intellectually and physically to improve as a student and an athlete.
