Hi, My name is Payton Borak and I began playing hockey when I was 8 years old. I grew up in Chicago Heights, Illinois. There are no ice rinks in my town nor are there any high schools in my town with hockey teams. Also, no one in my family plays or played hockey, so it was a bit of a surprise when I told them this is what I wanted to do. I immediately fell in love with the sport and there is nowhere else I 'd rather be than on the ice. The opportunity to play college hockey would be a dream come true. It has been a goal of mine ever since I watched my first college hockey game at Notre Dame. I'm a team player and give 100% at every practice, game, or off-ice session. I always listen to my coaches because it's the only way I can get better and be a better player for my team. My desire to constantly improve and strong work ethic has been the consistent feedback I've received from my team coaches and evaluations at numerous camps. My work ethic extends beyond the ice and into the classroom where I set a personal goal to get A's and B's in school. I want to continue to do well so I can attend college and hopefully study engineering.
