Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to look at my NCSA recruitment page. It was not  until I was 10 years old when I decided I wanted to try hockey. I remember driving home from a baseball game one day when I told my mom I wanted to play hockey instead.  Her first reaction was, “No, it’s too dangerous.” However, after a year of constant pushing, she finally said, “Okay, but you might want to learn how to skate first.” Over the next five years, I worked really hard to get to where I am today, the NA3HL. Now my sights are set on playing college hockey and hopefully beyond.

Every team, coach or teacher that I have worked with over the last five years have taught me something different. Even though I started late, I used everything I learned to help me progress further. I realize that I still have a lot to learn but because of my dedication and drive, I am ready to take on new challenges and be the best I can be on and off the ice. I love hockey and I love learning the little details of the game that will make me a better player. If there is one thing I can bring to a team it is that I am a great teammate. During games I stay positive and supportive towards my teammates no matter what our situation is. Right now being one of the youngest players on my junior team does not hold me back. I realize how lucky I am to be in this position and I am taking advantage of every opportunity put in front of me to be the best player I can be.

Please contact me or my coaches if you have any questions. Thank you for your interest in me.

  • Signed over the summer as a practice player. I was told If all went well I could get in 5 or so games. I went on to play in 33 of the teams regular season games and both of our NA3HL Frasier cup playoff games. Although I was given number 9 as a uniform number I always worn number 19 which is why our team stats don't reflect the 33 games

  • Barbara Williams was the first female skating coach in the NHL when she was hired by the NY Islanders in 1980. She spent 10 years training the Islanders and then did ten years with the NJ Devils. She has worked with over 450 NHL players. After I made the NA3HL team Barbara told me, "You have accomplished in one year what it takes most players five."
