Kevin Martin '20 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to complete at least 4 years of college and to earn to a degree while hopefully playing division 1 college hockey for a competitive school. I differ myself from others greatly through academics as I am a national merit semifinalist which makes me a part of the top 1.25% of students who take the PSAT in 10th grade. I differ from others through athletics as I have taken a different path than most other top players from the Buffalo area. Instead of joining the Buffalo Junior Sabres like most top players from Buffalo, I played with the Amherst Knights for years building close connections with friends that I know will last me long past high school. This Amherst team also competed with the Junior Sabres, losing to them in a shootout when I was 15 years old. As far as character goes, I am well liked at school as well as by my teammates, they find me entertaining as well and I can always bring a smile to their faces. I am also easily able to have conversations with anyone about anything, and have a very good work ethic. These characteristics are what set me apart from other recruits and make me a solid option for any team willing to give me a shot.
